Gamma-Ray Projector
880 Series Source Projectors Model 880 series source projectors are used for industrial applications of gamma radiography to inspect materials and structures in thedensity range of approximately 2.71 g/cm3 through 8.53 g/cm3.
SENTINELTM Model 880 Delta, 880 Sigma and 880 Elite source projectors are portable, lightweight and compact industrial radiographic exposure devices.  The patented device body consists of a titanium ��tube and cast depleted uranium (DU) shield contained within a 300 series     stainless steel tube with stainless steel discs welded at each end forming a cylinder shaped housing.  The discs are recessed to provide protection for the rear mounted locking mechanism and front mounted outlet port.
The horizontally oriented design allows the locking mechanism, source assembly connector and outlet port to be easily operated, simplifying connection of source guide tubes and remote controls.

Maintenance requirements

Most national regulations require inspection and maintenance of the system at quarterly intervals.The complete annual servicing ensures the integrity of the system.

Shorter frequencies of inspection and maintenance are required when the system is operated under severe operating environments. In some cases,the system should be serviced immediately after certain jobs in severe environmental working conditions.

680B Projector with OPL                
The SENTINELTM Model 680B source projector combines the penetrating radiation of Cobalt-60 with
the mobility provided by the use of depleted uranium shielding. It is designed for the radiography of steel
from 1 in to 7 in (25 mm to 175 mm) thick and light alloys 3 in to 15 in (75 mm to 375 mm) thick. All components have been developed to provide safe, reliable service and long life under the harsh conditions of industrial use. The durable case is designed to ease rigging operations.
A lock is incorporated to prevent use by unauthorized personnel. The source cannot be projected until the control cable is correctly connected. The projector can not be locked or the control cable disconnected until the source is safely stored. Projectors with codes that include the letter A or B are fitted with the unique Posilock device which automatically secures the source assembly in the stored position on retraction. Remote controls allow the operator to control the source at a distances of 35 ft (10.7 m) or 50 ft (15.2 m).When the source is in the exposure position the control can be a total distance of 46 ft (14 m) using 25 ft controls, 63 ft (19.2 m) using 35 ft controls, or 99 ft (30 m) using 50 ft controls.

The dosimeters are intended to measure personal equivalent x-ray and gamma radiation dose and dose rate in the energy range from 50 keV to 1.5 MeV. The detector is GM-tube with the energy compensative filter. Microprocessor processing and proper background detection ensure high accuracy of dose measurement within the wide dose rate measuring range. The microprocessor controls operation modes over, calculates, outputs data on a backlit LCD and performs self-testing. The nonvolatile memory keeps the accumulated dose and its accumulation history when the dosimeter is off. The dosimeter is calibrated on a water phantom of 30 x 30 x 15 cm. The dosimeter is designed to be carried in a breast pocket. It complies with ISO4037-3 International standard requirements.
The dosimeter can operate singly or in a dosimetry control system: dosimeter - reader - PC. The dosimeter connects to the reader via IR channel, and the reader connects to PC via RS232. The dosimeter software is intended to:

- Read/setup personal and serial dosimeter numbers;
- Change dose and dose rate thresholds;
- Disable/enable to change dosimeter thresholds by the dosimeter button;
- Change the dose accumulation interval in the range from 1 to 255 min and evaluate accumulated dose for each time interval within a work shift;
- Save automatically up to 800 dose values in the nonvolatile memory accumulated for the selected accumulation interval;
- Reset accumulated dose;
- Disable/enable to reset accumulated dose by the dosimeter button;
- Save automatically data in the data base and print them.
The operation modes are "Dose ", "Dose rate ", "Economical", "Menu", "Reset dose", "Dose threshold", "Dose rate threshold" and "Data exchange with PC".
